Bamboo fitted sheets for a comfortable and attractive bed
We spend a large part of our lives in bed. A good night's sleep is essential for our health. It allows us to wake up in a good mood and face the day with full energy. That's why good bedding is essential: a mattress, a slatted base, but also quality bed sheets. The fitted sheet is one of the most important bed linens. Comptoir du Bambou will show you the advantages of fitted sheets and the criteria for buying them.
What is a fitted sheet?
The fitted sheet is a rectangular piece of fabric designed to cover the entire top of the mattress. It therefore acts as a protective barrier between the mattress and the sleeper. This bedding has elastic bands on all four corners. This allows it to stretch ideally to the shape of the mattress, to hold itself perfectly and to give a neat appearance. It should therefore fit the length of your mattress, its width, but also its thickness. Fortunately, there are different sizes!
What are the advantages of a fitted sheet?
Using a fitted sheet not only protects the mattress, but also your sleeping comfort. It will increase the longevity of your mattress by protecting it from bacteria, allergens and moisture. Most people sweat a lot at night, and the fitted sheet (if it is of good quality) will absorb the sweat. It is therefore essential for your hygiene and well-being. Of course, it should be changed and washed regularly to ensure maximum cleanliness.
Thanks to its elasticated edges, the fitted sheet fits perfectly on the mattress. This means that the sheet cannot be folded and detached during the night, even if we move around a lot. However, it is important to choose the right one for the size of the mattress. If you buy a fitted sheet that is too small or too big, it can make your sleep unpleasant.
How do I choose the size of my fitted sheet?
Not sure what size fitted sheet to buy? Here are some tips to help you decide. The fitted sheet must fit the mattress perfectly. So before you buy, it's important to measure the length, width and thickness of your mattress. If you sleep in a 180×200 cm double bed, you will need to choose a 180×200 cm fitted sheet.
For the thickness of your mattress, it allows you to choose the right size fitted sheet. This is the elasticated corners that allow it to wrap around the mattress to its full height, easily reaching underneath. To choose the right height for your fitted sheet, add at least 5 cm to the thickness of your mattress. This will ensure that it fits perfectly and looks good. For example, for a 25 cm thick mattress, you will need a fitted sheet with a cup height of at least 30 cm (25 cm + 5 cm).
At Comptoir du Bambou, we offer bamboo fitted sheets in different sizes to suit all needs. If you sleep in a double bed, you can choose from our 140×200 cm, 160×200 cm, 180×200 cm and 190×200 cm items. In order to fit your mattress perfectly, they are offered with a 30 cm cup height. They are therefore suitable for standard mattress thicknesses.

Our bamboo bed linen will keep your bed at an ideal temperature all year round. They keep you warm in winter and cool in summer.
-
Household linen suitable for sensitive skin
Bamboo is naturally antibacterial, hypoallergenic and anti-mite. It is therefore suitable for people with sensitive skin and those prone to itching and allergies. The bamboo fibre we use in our bed linen is OEKO-TEX Standard 100 certified, which means that it does not contain any chemicals that are harmful to humans and the environment during the entire treatment process. They provide you with a healthy and restful sleep.

For a well harmonised decoration, we advise you to match the colour of your fitted sheet to the rest of your bed linen: pillowcase, flat sheet, duvet cover... Don't hesitate to browse through our different product ranges to compose your household linen with harmony!
How to maintain your bamboo fitted sheet ?
The fitted sheet should be changed and washed regularly. It is in direct contact with the sleeper who perspires and sheds dead skin night after night. It should be cleaned once a week in summer and once every 2 weeks in winter. Our bamboo satin fitted sheet is easy to care for. It is suitable for machine washing at no more than 60°. To preserve its absorbency, we recommend not using fabric softener. It is best to air dry, as you will notice that the bamboo fibre dries quickly. You can also put it in a tumble dryer, but at a low temperature.
