Comptoir du Bambou, a My Good Group brand, announces its decision not to take part in EquipHotel 2024

Too classic or too rough, our bath towels don't always live up to our expectations. Let's meet* the chic and ethical brand Comptoir du Bambou and their natural fibre range, which is always on trend.

What we love:

We love its ethnic and chic design which gives a sophisticated atmosphere to our bathroom. Thanks to the strength and flexibility of the Bamboo fibre, washing up is definitely not a problem anymore!

The notion of ethics is a phenomenon that is beginning to gain momentum, even inside our homes. How do you explain this trend?

In recent years, we have moved from an era of mass consumption, of low-cost, to reasoned consumption: we prefer to consume better and less. Placing ethics at the centre of a product is a mark of confidence towards the consumer.
Today, we pay more attention to what we buy: 80% of consumers look at the labelling of textile products.
At Comptoir du Bambou, we are aware that our consumption has a direct impact on the planet. We therefore integrate this constraint to develop better and more sustainable products.

For example, the eco-design of our products significantly reduces the environmental impact of our activity: our Comptoir du Bambou towels use 5 times less energy than a traditional towel. Unlike cotton, bamboo grows by itself, without pesticides, fertilisers or irrigation.
We pay attention to each link in the chain, from the design of the fibre to the distribution of our products, which enables us to offer our customers quality bath linen. At Comptoir du Bambou, the demand for quality is accompanied by the OEKO-TEX® Standard 100 certification, which guarantees the absence of toxic and chemical products during production. Our bath linen can be used on sensitive skin and on the skin of newborns.

As you will have understood, ethics are very important at Comptoir du Bambou, for our customers as well as for our team. Our philosophy is based on four pillars: high standards, respect, passion and commitment.

Comptoir du Bambou is a bit like the demands of the material mixed with the elegance of the pattern. Can you tell us more about the philosophy behind the brand?

Yes, that's right, we want to reinvent the classic bath towel.
The starting point is our observation: classic towels have an energy-consuming production process, become rough quickly, are not comfortable and have a classic design... In short, the offer is not very attractive! So we have to play on the content and the form!

Our tests led us to develop a fibre made from bamboo, a little-known material that retains the plant's original virtues. Thus, thanks to the composition of our fibre, our bath towel remains soft over time, retains the natural benefits of bamboo (hypoallergenic, antibacterial, anti-UV, ultra-absorbent) and is easier to care for (20% is lighter, saves energy, crumples less and dries more quickly)

Thanks to the softness of our fibre, the towel retains its softness over time for real comfort when you get out of the bath!
On the form, to make a trendy accessory, we play on the design. We work with designers who come out of beautiful homes to create elegant and modern designs and to differentiate ourselves from what is available on the market. The Victoria collection is a great example, as its ethnic and chic design is inspired by the shores of Lake Victoria in Kenya.
At Comptoir du Bambou, we want to offer our customers original and elegant towels to dress up their bathroom and make them decorative accessories.

Comptoir du Bambou has many partnerships with prestigious brands. How do you feel about this commitment to "clean" brands in the field?

Following on from the first question, it is true that today all brands must integrate ethics into their offer to better meet consumer expectations.

The big brands are fond of this type of partnership as it allows them to adapt more quickly to consumer demand and to rejuvenate their image.

To go further, some brands are betting on collaboration with young brands in order to diversify their clientele, boost their offer and integrate new eco-friendly values.
In our case, Comptoir du Bambou is collaborating with Bath Bazaar, a brand specialising in the world of bathing, with the Victoria collection, combining our know-how to create an exclusive collection with original and refined details. Our two brands form a win/win partnership based on 4 pillars: design, quality, modernity and dynamism of the offer.

Blue addict

We recreate a hammam spirit in our bathroom by favouring blue tones on the floor or wall tiles for a calm and soothing atmosphere.
Don't hesitate to give a second life to the fouta of your holidays by using it as a decorative element on a towel rack for a total blue look.
